Prostate Problems Beyond Prostate Cancer
Although the most serious risk to the prostate is prostate cancer, there are other ailments that can cause problems.
There is one ailment that have the same symptoms as prostate cancer, but is in fact relatively harmless beyond the symptoms, but it can lead to secondary infections and kidney problems. It is called BHP or enlarged prostate and is most common in men over 50. Incontinence, having trouble urinating when you need to go or the stream is weak when urinating are all possible symptoms of prostate cancer or BHP. So check with the doctor.
Another problem men can have with their prostate is that it can become infected. This is called prostatitis. This is pretty uncomfortable but is treatable if it is a bacterial infection. Kidney stone may also lead to non bacterial prostatitis.
